HIGH BLOOD CHOLESTEROL





Cholesterol is a waxy substance that is produced by the human body and is also found in animal products .Cells need cholesterol to function. Unfortunately, any excess cholesterol in the blood builds up inside the arteries. Cholesterol deposits are major causes of heart attacks and strokes. A high cholesterol level in your blood is a risk factor for heart disease and stroke. The higher your cholesterol level, the higher the risk, however not every cholesterol is bad.

HORMONE THERAPY


Hormone therapy, also called hormone replacement therapy means when a woman is given estrogen or estrogen with progestin to help her cope with or relieve her of the symptoms of menopause or peri-menopause,  which include, vaginal dryness, hot flashes, mood swings, brittle bones, to mention a few, which are all as a result of lower hormone levels.

TEN FACTS ABOUT BREAST CANCER


·         For every 100,000 women, about twenty five will suffer from breast cancer.
·         Every woman whether young or old is at risk of breast cancer. It is easier to treat all cancers, including breast cancer if discovered early through routine self-examination, mammography, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. In other words, check yourself regularly and see a doctor if you notice anything strange.
·         Statistics reveal that about 1% of men have breast cancer. When they do, it is more deadly because men's breasts are smaller and have fewer nerves in them. So it is not an exclusively female disease.

CAN MEN ALSO HAVE BREAST CANCER?


Breast cancer is widely perceived to happen among women, but the truth is that though breast cancer may be rare in men, it still happens. After all, men have breast tissues too. Research has it that the overall ratio of female to male breast cancer is about 100 to 1. This may sound like a small number but the reality is that 390 men die out of 1,970 diagnosed
